Can we get over the veil already? Part two of 1,001

Can we get over the veil already? Part two of 1,001

"C'mon kids, can't we obsess over something more serious? Resolution of the Palestinian-israeli conflict? a migration crisis? syria?"

Happy, um...headscarf day. NPR today ran an article about the veil and its similarly shrouded controversy.  Some interviewed in the US stating wearing the veil meant they had to constantly had to explain their faith. Other stated they were proud they had this freedom of dress in America.

Thanks to Dalia Mogahed for calling an accessory an accessory:

"Some Muslim women wear hijab, some don't, and it's just not an issue — it's a non-issue," she wrote. "But then you have one person write an engaging article, and suddenly it's a debate that we're supposed to be having, that we are not having."

Thank you, Dalia.
